The existing infrastructure of the underground pit plant (premises and quarters, hoisting, crushing and transport system, drainage and ventilation system with the power utility) increase the value of potential ore reserves.
An estimate of total geological reserves for the “Borska reka” deposit that are affected by the block model within the limiting Cu content of 0.3% belonging to A, B, C1 and C2 categories between the benches of k+25m and k-995 m amount to over a billion tons of ore and more than 5.5 million tonnes of copper, and within the categories A, B and C1 there are 556.9 million tonnes of ore and 3.15 million tons of copper with accompanying elements such as gold, silver, molybdenum, etc.
Balance reserves are certified on the basis of research data and techno-economic evaluation of the deposit above K-455 m. Up to this level, total of 319.9 million tonnes of ore with 0.50% Cu, 0.204 g of gold per ton of ore and molybdenum 35.89 g / t of ore has been calculated. In addition to the ore body on the horizon no. XVII, a primary crushing facility has been constructed along with the technological transport and hoist of ore line. The deposit is open and largely worked out with excavation work being done above the horizon no. XVII, therefore investment funds are needed and an optimal time period for the development of additional facilities and objects. The study worked out by the Mining and Geology Faculty in Belgrade showed that it was technically possible for the ore to be extracted above the horizon no. XVII, with a mining method to preserve the area with acceptable economic effects. The conclusion of the study was that ore excavation above the horizon no. XVII in any case could not threaten or diminish the effects of mining of the Borska reka deposit below the horizon no. XVII and would not exclude the application of the caving method.
Ore reserves above the horizon XVII at k-155m amount to over 20,000,000 tons of ore with copper content of 0.5%, gold 0.187 g / t, silver 1.66 g / t of ore, molybdenum 40.7 g / t of ore.
